The Force is Strong With This 1 - Luke's First Birthday Party

We celebrated Luke's birthday with a small celebration, Star Wars style.

We set up a little "photo booth" area with StarWars props.  Brad already had most things in his nerd collection. :)

We had subs for dinner, and some snack foods and desserts.

We had a great party!

Luke at 12 Months

Luke turned 1 last month! At 12 months, Luke...

... is around 20 lbs

... wears 12-18 month  clothes and size 4 diapers

... has graduated from walking to RUNNING around the house

Sam at 12 Months

Sam Turns 4!

Sam turned 4 years old last month.  We planned to have a birthday party at the playground, but the day of his party was rainy and cold - so we switched plans and had the party at home.  Sam's current favorite show is Paw Patrol, so we had a Paw Patrol party.

We had "pupcorn", bread "sticks", and lots of dog treats (scooby snacks, crunch balls, donut holes, m&ms, etc.) Sam loved his party!

This is what happens when you give a 4 year old a cool new shirt for his birthday!

At 4 years old, Sam...
... is approximately 28 lbs and wearing 3T or 4T clothes
... goes to preschool 2 days a week and spends the other 3 days with nana
... asks approximately 500 questions a day
... loves to talk, but can be shy around big groups or new situations
... enjoys watching Tangled and Frozen and most other animated movies
... says he wants to be a police officer when he grows up
... is very independent
... gets himself dressed each day
... knows all his uppercase and lowercase letters
... knows a lot of the letter sounds
... can count to 29 without help
... is starting to write his name

Sam likes talking,  superheroes (Batman and Superman are his favorites), coloring, playing wii (especially Lego Batman), singing, bath time, quesadillas,  the color red, dressing up in costumes, and running, jumping, and flying around the house.

Sam doesn't like getting his picture taken, taking naps, washing his hair, most vegetables, unwanted help, sharing his toys, or getting his feelings hurt.

At four years old, Sam is the funniest, sweetest, and smartest little boy!  He has a big vocabulary and loves talking.  He will keep a conversation going with anyone that will let him.  Sam's personality draws others in and he has lots of friends wherever he goes.  We can't wait to see how he grows this year!

Fall Cuties

We've been having fun getting ready for Halloween!  We got our pumpkins, haven't carved them yet... and we went to the Harris Nature Center Halloween Adventures.  I used to work this event, so it was nice to come with the boys this year.  Sam had lots of fun, Luke too! :)

Luke at 11 Months

Wow, another month passed!  Tons of pictures taken, but not all posted on here.  Someday I will update more. :)

At 11 months, Luke...
... is 19 lbs
... wears mostly 12 month clothes, size 3 or 4 diapers
... is WALKING! Full-blown walking... I'd say he walks more than he crawls at this point
... has 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom)
... eats lots of solid foods.  His favorites are crackers, cheese, eggs, rice, yogurt...

His hobbies include...
... playing with cars, animals, and balls
... reading books
... watching Curious George
... carrying his toys around the room
... dancing
... dumping out bins of toys or pulling books off a shelf
... climbing bookshelves
... squealing
... taking baths
... saying mama, nana, dada, and cat!
... pulling on necklaces
... laughing
... playing peek-a-boo
... petting the dogs and nana and papa's cat
